It was almost the biggest surprise ever. Late yesterday I got word at work that there was a strong desire to send me out the following day on what would have been my first business trip ever. The reason would have been to assist with a time-sensitive video shoot in another state, to ensure that [...]
This weekend we did some special things with Patty, Maegan, and Darah. On Saturday we all went to the Washington Monument (Amy and Steve too). We’ve all been there before but I got tickets months ago to go inside and up to the top for the first time. The weather was absolutely perfect and you [...]
My family drove up to visit me for the first time since I began working in Washington DC back in March. It’s taken so long because they needed a time when Patty was between semesters at nursing school and Maegan was not in school or camp either. Patty had her final exam on Monday and [...]
Amy made the following holiday video of us at Jib Jab and then surprised us with it.
A little while ago Patty went online and found a Charlotte hiking group on MeetUp.com. She joined and signed up for a hike at Lake Norman State Park in Troutman, NC. That hike was yesterday and Maegan, and I went along too. (Darah didn’t go with us.) Maegan and I have gone hiking many times [...]
Yesterday a neighbor came by with a chihuahua on a leash. She said that she found the little dog walking down the street alone with a collar on and dragging a retractable leash behind him. But she had to leave and didn’t have a fenced backyard to keep the dog safe, so she asked Patty [...]
Yesterday was almost an exciting day, three different times, but nothing happened. I actually find it odd that so much could have happened yesterday, yet none of the stories panned out. First, back on March 28th a quick but violent storm blew threw Charlotte and dumped nickle to quarter sized hail throughout the neighborhood. (For [...]
We celebrated Darah’s third birthday with family yesterday. She got lots of presents like a Barbie doll, a dressable Cinderella cutout, and some sort of outdoor water spray-thing. She also got a new tricycle from Grandma. Here’s some video of Darah “riding” her tricycle with Patty.
Patty took Maegan and Darah pumpkin pickin’ this weekend. Darah picked out a small softball-sized pumpkin with a (poorly done) painting of Mickey Mouse. Now she won’t go anywhere without that pumpkin.
Yesterday Patty had her first day of nursing school (pre-nursing), as she became a student again for the first time in over a decade. Today Maegan had her first day of middle school. She said everything went fine but that it was confusing. Maegan said she felt like she was a 1st grader again with [...]
