Amy was looking for furniture online and came across this “patio hanging egg chair”. $446 seems like an outrageously high price for such an ugly chair… but how can you pass up the opportunity to save over $79,000?!

Even more ridiculous is the fact that the minimum order is two of these hideous things.

Unemployment FAIL!

North Carolina Employment Security Commission (ESC) mails out Eligibility Review Notice letters AFTER the due date by which a response from unemployed residents was supposed to be received. Considering that it takes at least three days to for the resident to receive the letter in the mail in the first place, and then another three days for a response to be mailed back to the NC ESC, this time line is well over a week past ridiculous. Other than being comically stupid, the more serious problem is that the response is needed from the resident before the due date in order to STOP receiving unemployment checks from the government. What a waste. You shouldn’t need a time machine in order to get off of unemployment benefits? FAIL!

Reader Roulette

I use Google Reader to keep up with dozens of different websites without actually visiting each one. (Click here to learn more about RSS and Google Reader in plain English.) Yesterday I visited my Google Reader while accidentally logged in to a different account that had no subscriptions. The result was the same as if I had just signed up for a brand new blank account, in which Google automatically populates Reader with samples from what I assume are the most popular RSS feeds around the world. Many of them weren’t even in English. This was interesting because I got to see things that were completely different from what I normally would have seen in my own Reader (which would have been mostly tech news, television news, After Effects tutorials, and friends’ blogs). Most of the sites were ones I’ve never even heard of before. Here are a few of those posts that I found interesting while skimming through the seemingly random posts that I normally wouldn’t have ever seen.
