I just came back from my first Charlotte Checkers game since they ‘became’ an AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricane. I went with friend after another friend had to work and generously offered me his ticket. The arena was practically empty on a Tuesday night (election night) but it was still fun, and a very exciting ending. The Checkers tied the game with 0.5 seconds left in regulation! Then it came down to a shootout after a scoreless overtime period. Unfortunately the Checkers lost in the end but it was still a good game.
