The 23rd Regional Emmy Awards were held in Nashville this past weekend so I checked their website to see how many of my past co-workers at WSOC / WAXN were nominated for awards. I was surprised to find that some of MY spots were nominated for an Emmy. What!? Yup, my work was nominated for an Emmy for a fourth time (two wins) and nobody even told me. Perhaps because they were nominated under somebody else’s name. WTF!?
Now I’ll back up a bit and say that the person who’s name was attached to this nomination did indeed work on the promos. He did all the graphics and special effects and did a great job so he deserves credit for his contributions. But I was the writer, the producer/director, and the editor. How does nobody from the station even tell me that my spots were nominated for an Emmy, and instead let me stumble upon it on the web with somebody else’s name on it? Un*******believable!
Wow, that’s just not right at all.
