Patty got this photo in an email she received from her father. Ed is currently working as a civilian contractor with the Army (not in the Army) in Afghanistan. It seems unbelievable to me but this photo is of Ed doing his job in a special military vehicle used to sweep for land mines. You heard right, the Army doesn’t always sweep for mines themselves – they have civilian contractors like Patty’s father doing this work.
