If you don’t care about fantasy baseball, stop reading right now. I had two live fantasy drafts this week and my results were night and day. The first draft was a free, 12-team league of semi-regulars I join every year. The second was also a 12-team league I join every year, but this bunch is [...]
Sorry I haven’t blogged anything in the past 11 days. I’ve just been very busy the past week and a half and haven’t had the time. I’m not going to retroactively blog about everything that I missed but I will say congratulations to Janet Ochs and her husband Chris. Last week their second child, Amanda, [...]
Congrats to SUNY Plattsburgh. Last night the Plattsburgh State Cardinals won the Division III Women’s Ice Hockey National Championship. It’s technically winter but the temperature was over 80° in Charlotte today. At lunch time I took advantage of the great weather to check out the Sugaw Creek Disc Golf Course for the first time. I only had time for 8 quick holes before I had to get back. Nearly half my shots were off [...]
It’s been a week and a half since little Sophia was born in Hawaii and we haven’t been sent any photos. Everybody else in Patty’s family was sent photos. What’s up with that? We finally got this photo forwarded to us by Lore.
In addition to showcasing the 1946 Huntington Planing Map I blogged about yesterday, I’ll also take this opportunity to point out some other historical writings I’m proud to have contributed to Wikipedia. A few months ago I accidentally discovered an amazing online resource called Northern New York Historical Newspapers. This website has digitally scanned hundreds [...]
I’m a regular contributer to Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia. I have well over 700 edits to my credit. I own an old 1946 town planning map from Huntington, New York which I considered historically significant enough to warrant an article on Wikipedia. The map shows Long Island right before the post-World War II population explosion [...]

Every selection Sunday you hear the complaints about bubble teams not making the tournament and debate on which teams shouldn’t have [...]
Net Neutrality is in serious jeopardy. To summarize what this means I’ll compare it to my industry. Imagine just as an example that you had Time Warner Cable. Time Warner owns many of the cable stations available, including CNN, TBS, TNT, and Cartoon Network. Now imagine that you’re paying for over a hundred cable television [...]
Yesterday, Sophia Marie Perrott was born in Hawaii. This is my first niece, after three nephews. Sandi and John promise to send photos soon.
